The Weary Warrior (Yorgun Savaşçı) (translated)

The Weary Warrior is a historical Turkish television series directed by Halit Refiğ and adapted from Kemal Tahir's novel of the same name. The production was decided in 1978, its script approved in 1979, and filming began for TRT; the eight-episode series was completed in 1981, with editing and delivery finalized in 1983. Its budget was announced as 40 million Turkish lira.

The series is known for its extraordinary fate: in 1983 the military junta following the September 12 coup announced that it had been burned. Although the original recordings were destroyed, one surviving video copy was broadcast on TRT in 1993 after it was announced that a rival version shot for the private HBB channel would air. The cast includes Can Gürzap, Müşfik Kenter, Nisa Serezli, and Yıldırım Gencer.
