Movie · 1979 · 5 people

Canikom is a 1979 Turkish romantic comedy directed by Orhan Aksoy and written by Fuat Özlüer and Erdoğan Tünaş. It was produced for Erler Film by Türker İnanoğlu, shot in colour on 35 mm by cinematographer Çetin Gürtop, and runs for 89 minutes.

The story centres on Fikret, a womanising company manager engaged to Serap, the daughter of the firm's owner. Sailing to Şile on his yacht for a holiday, he keeps running into Bahar, a model there for a photo shoot, and the two grow close and begin planning to marry. Serap then arrives in Şile to surprise him, upending everything and leaving Fikret to break off the engagement while proving to Bahar how much he loves her.

Cüneyt Arkın and Gülşen Bubikoğlu play the leads, with Hülya Yiğitalp as Serap and familiar Yeşilçam faces including Ali Şen, Sami Hazinses, Şemsi İnkaya, Ekrem Dümer and Nubar Terziyan filling out the cast. The film stands as a characteristic example of the Yeşilçam romantic comedies of its day.
