Ali Şen — Biography
Ali Şen was born on December 26, 1918, in Adana. He began performing on stage at the Adana Halkevi, toured with the Sadi Tek theatre company between 1944 and 1946, and settled in Istanbul in the early 1950s.
He made his film debut in 1954 with Ahretten Gelen Adam and went on to appear in more than 300 films, becoming known for supporting roles as either sympathetic or villainous characters. His credits include Zübük (1981), Banker Bilo (1980), Süt Kardeşler (1976), Tokatçı (1983), Yedi Bela Hüsnü (1982), Canikom (1979) and Erkekçe (1983). He was the father of actor Şener Şen.
Şen died in Istanbul on December 15, 1989, of a cerebral hemorrhage; after funeral prayers at Teşvikiye Mosque, he was buried at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.
