Ayşecik and the Magical Dwarves in the Land of Dreams (Ayşecik ve Sihirli Cüceler Rüyalar Ülkesinde) (translated)

Ayşecik and the Magical Dwarves in the Land of Dreams is a 1971 Turkish musical fantasy film directed by Tunç Başaran. Written by Başaran and Hamdi Değirmencioğlu and produced by Özdemir Birsel for Hisar Film, it is an uncredited yet faithful local adaptation of L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Zeynep Değirmencioğlu stars as Ayşecik, a role she played in nearly forty films. Carried away to a land of dreams, the little girl searches for a way back home, befriending a Scarecrow (Metin Serezli), a Tin Man (Süleyman Turan) and a Cowardly Lion (Ali Şen) along the road to the great wizard. Like other entries in the Ayşecik series, the film recasts a famous Western story as a Yeşilçam tale for Turkish audiences.
