Poison Detective (Zehir Hafiye) (translated)

Zehir Hafiye is a 1989 Turkish comedy-adventure film directed by Orhan Aksoy, who co-wrote the screenplay with Osman F. Seden. The 85-minute production, made by Uğur Film, stars Kemal Sunal and Nur Gürkan.

Cemal is a taxi driver obsessed with detective novels who idolizes Columbo and Mike Hammer and imagines himself a world-famous sleuth, a habit whose absurd detective games have cost him every job he has taken. His life changes when Zeynep, the daughter of a mafia boss, climbs into his cab: having fled home because her father disapproves of her relationship with Oktay, she turns Cemal into the hero of a real case. The cast also includes Turgut Özatay and Şemsi İnkaya.
