Love and Grudge (Aşk ve Kin)
Aşk ve Kin (Love and Grudge) is a 1964 black-and-white Turkish drama written, directed and produced by Turgut Demirağ. Made by the And Film company with cinematography by Gani Turanlı, the roughly 90-minute picture belongs to the drama and sentimental genres.
The story centres on a man left disabled by a traffic accident on his wedding night, and on his ill-fated wife. Belgin Doruk stars as Cahide Yalın, alongside Turgut Özatay as Zihni Yalın, Cüneyt Arkın as Doktor Kadri Ersoy and Leyla Sayar as Nevin Yalın; the supporting cast includes Senih Orkan, Feridun Çölgeçen and Afif Yesari.
The film won the Golden Orange Award for Best Film at the 2nd Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival in 1965 and was also entered into the 4th Moscow International Film Festival, making it one of the award-winning titles of Turgut Demirağ's career.
