Two Acrobats (İki Cambaz) (translated)

Movie · 1979 · 2 people

İki Cambaz (Two Acrobats) is a 1979 Turkish action comedy directed by Natuk Baytan from a screenplay by Erdoğan Tünaş. Produced by Berker İnanoğlu under the Sezer Film banner, the color feature was shot by cinematographer Orhan Kapkı and runs about 82 minutes.

The plot follows two friends who make their living as con men. Tayfun and his partner Kamil swindle Abbas and his associate Tahir out of ten thousand liras and go on the run. Tayfun stashes the entire haul away for his retirement and, despite Kamil's constant pestering, refuses to reveal the hiding place. The pair keep slipping away from the henchmen sent after them — until Tayfun loses his memory in an accident, and suddenly everyone who wants the money has an interest in nursing him back to health.

Cüneyt Arkın stars in the double role of Tayfun/Cemil opposite Erol Taş as Boğa Kamil, with Nejat Özbek, Merih Ergürbüz, Ali Şen, Turgut Özatay and Yadigar Ejder rounding out the cast.
