Death Mission (Ölüm Görevi) (translated)
Ölüm Görevi ("Death Mission") is a 1978 Turkish adventure-drama directed by Cüneyt Arkın from a screenplay by Safa Önal. Produced by Berker İnanoğlu for Sezer Film and shot by cinematographer Kenan Kurt, the 74-minute picture opened in Turkish cinemas on 1 September 1978.
Arkın also takes the lead as Şahin, heading a cast that includes Perihan Savaş as Lale, Eşref Kolçak as Haşmet, Turgut Özatay as Denisos and Firuz as Turgut, with familiar supporting players of the era such as Nubar Terziyan (as the police chief), Atilla Ergün and Ercan Yazgan. In keeping with Yeşilçam practice of the time, the film was post-dubbed: Toron Karacaoğlu voiced Arkın and Jeyan Mahfi Tözüm voiced Savaş.
The keywords attached to the film in the SinemaTürk database — police, bomb, blind, tavern — point to a crime-adventure story typical of the period, and the film stands among the productions Arkın both directed and starred in.
