The Saw (Destere) (translated)

Destere (The Saw) is a 2008 Turkish comedy film written by Gürcan Yurt and co-directed by Ahmet T. Uygun and Gürcan Yurt. Starring Peker Açıkalın, Önder Açıkbaş and Ali Çatalbaş, the production was conceived as a parody of the international Saw horror series.

Running about 90 minutes, the film blends crime, comedy and parody elements. Its story follows a serial killer from Thrace who cannot pronounce the letter 'H' and therefore targets people whose names begin with it. Two villagers, Hayrettin and Hayati, wake up locked in the basement of an unfamiliar village house, where the killer communicates with them only through a voice recording. Ceyhun Fersoy and Güzin Usta also appear in the cast.
