Peker Açıkalın — Biography

Peker Açıkalın was born in Kars on March 1, 1963; his family later settled in Istanbul, and he graduated from the Istanbul University State Conservatory. After graduating he performed with various theater companies before making his television debut in 1989 in the TRT 1 series "Kim Bunlar?"

Through the 1990s and 2000s he appeared in highly rated series such as Çiçek Taksi, Ekmek Teknesi, Avrupa Yakası, and Yahşi Cazibe, becoming widely known for his character Gaffur in Avrupa Yakası. In film, his credits include Kolay Para, Hababam Sınıfı Askerde, Hababam Sınıfı Üç Buçuk, the Maskeli Beşler series, Amerikalılar Karadeniz'de 2, Türkler Çıldırmış Olmalı, Destere, Vezir Parmağı, Allah Diyen Kanepe, Karımı Gördünüz Mü?, and Baba 1.5.

In late 2025, reports about his health drew public attention, and his wife shared updates to reassure fans about his condition.
