Ugly World (Çirkin Dünya)

Ugly World is a Turkish thriller and crime film directed by Osman Fahir Seden and released in 1975. Written by Safa Önal and adapted from the film Les intrus, it treats the themes of assault and revenge, common in Yeşilçam cinema of the era, in a harsh style. Hülya Koçyiğit stars as Selma, opposite Savaş Başar as the Scorpion and Bülent Kayabaş as the Cat. As was customary at the time, the actors were dubbed, with Jeyan Mahfi Tözüm providing Koçyiğit's voice.

The film also had a curious international life. Released in Italy in 1975 under the title La gang dell'arancia meccanica, a nod to Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange, its credits replaced the actors' real names with invented Italian and English ones, billing the director as Rowland Kramer. In German-speaking countries it appeared on video as Es begann um Mitternacht and was later issued on DVD as Mondo Brutale II.
