Bülent Kayabaş — Biography
Osman Bülent Kayabaş (18 June 1945, Eskişehir – 19 April 2017, Istanbul) was a Turkish stage and screen actor and voice artist. He turned professional in 1961 at the Eskişehir Municipal Theatre and spent the following four decades with a succession of private companies, winning the Avni Dilligil best actor award in 1981.
From 1963 onwards he appeared in well over a hundred films and, across cinema and television, in close to two hundred productions in all — among them Karateci Kız (1973), Karateciler İstanbul'da (1974), Filler ve Çimen (2000), Pardon (2005) and the Fırıldak Ailesi comedies, in which he played Sabri Fırıldak. He also worked in dubbing, voicing Turkish versions of animated features such as Winnie the Pooh and Atlantis.
His drawn-out demise as the villain Ferruh Durak in Karateci Kız became an internet phenomenon after being rediscovered online in 2012, drawing millions of views as the "worst movie death scene ever" and later being parodied in an episode of Regular Show. He died of colorectal cancer in hospital in 2017.
