Hakkı Kıvanç — Biography

Hakkı Kıvanç (born Hakkı Güvenç; July 18, 1931, Adana – January 30, 2015, Istanbul) was one of the most prolific character actors of Turkey's Yeşilçam film industry.

After working briefly as a tailor, he made his screen debut in the 1957 film Beni Şafakta Vurdular and went on to appear in more than five hundred films over a career spanning half a century, including Kızgın Güneş, Küçük Sevgilim, Acı Hayat, Belalı Tatil, and Kelepçe. He continued working steadily in television films and series through the 1980s and 1990s.

Kıvanç died in Istanbul at the age of 83, remembered for his memorable supporting roles in the crowded ensemble casts typical of Yeşilçam cinema.
