Angry Sun (Kızgın Güneş) (translated)

Kızgın Güneş ("Blazing Sun") is a Turkish feature released in 1971. Yavuz Figenli directed it and co-wrote the screenplay with Erol Erdoğan, Yılmaz Ceylan served as cinematographer, and Topkapı Film handled production. Shot in black and white and running roughly 65 minutes, it reached Turkish cinemas on 1 March 1972.

The plot follows Ali, who is caught in a drug hand-off that goes wrong when police raid it. He is supposed to hand over a large sum of money, collect the shipment and deliver it to a man known as Panter. A bystander watching the exchange from a distance mistakes it for a robbery and calls the police; the drugs are seized, the couriers scatter, and Ali escapes still carrying the cash. Determined to get the money, Panter sets out to abduct Ali's sister Oya as leverage.

Cihangir Gaffari and Eva Bender play the leads, supported by a large cast that includes Behçet Nacar, Hakkı Kıvanç, Mürüvvet Sim, İbrahim Kurt, Gülten Ceylan, Yaşar Güçlü and Erdoğan Seren. As was standard practice in Yeşilçam productions of the period, the film was post-dubbed: Abdurrahman Palay voiced Gaffari, Nevin Akkaya voiced Bender and Timuçin Caymaz voiced Nacar.
