The Bride

La novia is a 2015 Spanish drama directed by Paula Ortiz, her second feature after De tu ventana a la mía (2011). The screenplay, written by Ortiz, is a free adaptation of Federico García Lorca's 1933 tragedy Bodas de sangre (Blood Wedding). Starring Inma Cuesta, Álex García and Asier Etxeandía, alongside Leticia Dolera and Carlos Álvarez-Nóvoa, the film was released in Spain on 11 December 2015.

It was screened in the Zabaltegi section of the 2015 San Sebastián International Film Festival and received twelve Goya Award nominations, including best film, best director, best actor and best actress. It was also shortlisted as one of three films that could be chosen as Spain's submission for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards, though it was ultimately not selected.
