Asier Etxeandía — Biography

Known by his full name Asier Gómez Etxeandía, the actor was born in Bilbao in 1975, on the 27th of June, and grew into a versatile figure across Spanish stage, screen and music. His career spans theatre, film, television and singing in equal measure. He reached wide audiences through the character Raúl de la Riva, a stylist loosely inspired by Yves Saint Laurent, in the series Velvet and its sequel Velvet Colección. His performance in La novia (2015) and his role in the Pedro Almodóvar film Dolor y gloria (2019), alongside Antonio Banderas and Penélope Cruz, each earned him a Goya Award nomination. He has also appeared in productions such as King Conqueror and Las 13 rosas.
