Globomedia produced Los Serrano, a family comedy-drama shown on Spain's Telecinco from 22 April 2003 to 17 July 2008. Over eight seasons and 147 episodes it became Spain's most-watched programme of 2004 and regularly led its time slot. It won the Ondas award for best Spanish series, plus the Micrófono de Oro and Fotogramas de Plata. In France it aired on France 3 from 2006.

The story is set in the fictional Santa Justa neighbourhood of Madrid, by the Manzanares. Diego Serrano, a widower with three sons, marries his first love Lucía Gómez, who has two daughters. The two families move in together, and the series follows the daily lives of this crowded new household and its circle of friends at home, at the children's school and in the family tavern, Hermanos Serrano. It centres on the differences between men and women living under one roof.

The cast includes Antonio Resines, Belén Rueda, Jesús Bonilla, Verónica Sánchez and Elsa Pataky; Belén Rueda left in 2007. Fran Perea, who plays Marcos, also sings the theme song "1 más 1 son 7", and the show's success helped launch his career.
