Amar en tiempos revueltos

Amar en tiempos revueltos is a Spanish period soap opera produced by Diagonal TV for RTVE and broadcast on La 1 on weekday afternoons from 27 September 2005 to 16 November 2012. Inspired by Temps de silenci from the Catalan channel TV3, the series sets its story in the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War and the early years of General Francisco Franco's regime. Created by Josep Maria Benet i Jornet, the production's writing team also included Antonio Onetti and Rodolf Sirera.

Running for seven seasons, the series aired a total of 1,707 episodes, eight special episodes and one recap episode. It won several Actors and Actresses Union Awards in Spain and earned a silver medal at the New York Festival. When RTVE's financial troubles made it impossible to commission an eighth season, Diagonal TV began negotiating with other channels; this brought the series to an end and gave rise to a successor, Amar es para siempre, which premiered on Antena 3 in January 2013.
