Broken Lives is a 1965 Turkish drama directed by Halit Refiğ, adapted from the novel of the same name by Halid Ziya Uşaklıgil. The leading roles are played by Belgin Doruk, Cüneyt Arkın, and Nebahat Çehre. The story unfolds in the Ottoman mansions of a Westernized bourgeoisie and the imperial elite, weaving a tale of love and family ties. The work is also referenced in Orhan Pamuk's novel The Museum of Innocence, whose protagonist finances a screen adaptation of it. The same novel later inspired further television adaptations: a short-lived TRT series in 1985 and a new series in 2021 with a different cast.
