Boatman (Kayıkçı)

Kayıkçı (Boatman) is a Turkish-Greek-Bulgarian drama produced by Sinevizyon Film. It was directed by Biket İlhan from a screenplay by Metin Belgin and Ülkü Karaosmanoğlu, with cinematography by Colin Mounier, and opened in cinemas on October 8, 1999.

The film follows a deaf-mute boatman who sets out on an inner tube from Çeşme to the Greek island of Chios in an attempt to reach the Greek woman he loves, and the difficulties he faces once he gets there.

Memet Ali Alabora leads the cast, with Mustafa Avkıran and Levent Özdilek also appearing.
