The Wild One (Yaban) (translated)

Yaban is a 1996 Turkish television film adapted from Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu's novel of the same name. Produced by TRT and directed by Nihat Durak, the film was co-written by Durak and Ziya Öztan, with music by Timur Selçuk and a runtime of 85 minutes.

The story follows Ahmet Celal, a man wounded in wartime, and Emine, the young woman who rescues and heals him, as a passionate love develops between them. Aytaç Arman stars as Ahmet Celal opposite Sanem Çelik as Emine, supported by a cast that includes Tomris Oğuzalp, Menderes Samancılar, Cezmi Baskın, Levent Özdilek, Arif Pişkin, Süleyman Atanısev and Halit Ergör. At the 33rd Golden Orange Film Festival in 1996, the film earned cinematographers Tevfik Şenol and Yusuf Güven the Best Cinematography award.
