Personality (Şahsiyet)

Şahsiyet is a Turkish web series that combines crime and drama genres, released in 2018. Directed by Onur Saylak and written by Hakan Günday, the series, produced by Ay Yapım, premiered its first season on puhutv on March 17, 2018, and ran for twelve episodes; its second season was released on the GAİN platform in 2023.

At the heart of the story is Agâh Beyoğlu, a retired court clerk living alone in Istanbul. Diagnosed with early-stage Alzheimer's, Agâh, driven by a strange freedom granted by his illness, decides to systematically murder several people who have escaped justice in the past. He is pursued by Nevra Elmas, an idealistic police officer who is ostracized by her colleagues for being the only female officer in the homicide department. The clues left by the killer on his victims unexpectedly bring Agâh and Nevra together. The film stars Haluk Bilginer, Cansu Dere, Metin Akdülger, Şebnem Bozoklu, and Hüseyin Avni Danyal.

Considered one of the most acclaimed productions in the history of Turkish television series, Şahsiyet (The Person) ranks highly on IMDb's list of the best series of all time. Haluk Bilginer won Best Actor at the International Emmy Awards for his performance in this role, and the series also holds the record for being the first Turkish series to be broadcast in Germany.
