Avni Yalçın — Biography

Avni Yalçın (born 1 January 1947, Istanbul) is a Turkish theatre, cinema and television series actor.

The artist, who was an Istanbul City Theatres actor, also worked at the Friends Theatre and plays roles in cinema and television series. In the television series Hatırla Sevgili, the character Şevket, played by him, died of a heart attack in the late 1960s and the artist withdrew from the series and joined the cast of the television series Karayılan.

At the beginning of 2009, he embodied the character Yorgo in the film Güz Sancısı which was released. For a period, he was married to Ayşegül Devrim, who like him is an actress.

The artist became well known to a wide audience through the role of Mustachioed Literature Teacher Avni in the unforgettable comedy film of Turkish cinema Hababam Sınıfı Tatilde.
