You will love people (İnsanları Seveceksin) (translated)
İnsanları Seveceksin is a Turkish-Italian co-production directed by Melih Gülgen. The screenplay was written by Erdoğan Tünaş, while Gülgen also produced the picture through Gülgen Film. Shot in colour with cinematography by Salih Dikişçi and a score by the Italian composer Paolo Ormi, the film runs for 87 minutes. Sources give 1978 as its production year and 1 February 1979 as its theatrical release date.
The story follows Halil, the son of a poor porter. After his father's death, he leaves school and starts working to support his mother Nazlı and his brother Yalçın in the shanty house where they live. When the owner of the business he works for commits a murder, the man asks Halil to take the blame, promising to provide for his family in return. Halil accepts the sacrifice and, over the years, becomes a well-known tough. His brother, unaware of how his sibling really lives, stays in school and becomes a prosecutor - and fate eventually brings the two men face to face.
Mixing adventure, drama and crime, the film stars Cüneyt Arkın as Halil. The cast also features the Italian actress Gloria Piedimonte alongside Şükriye Atav, Sevda Karaca, Süheyl Eğriboz, Yadigar Ejder, Hüseyin Peyda and Ekrem Dümer. The narrative's movement between Istanbul and Rome mirrors the film's co-production identity.
