My Dear Brother (Canım Kardeşim)

My Dear Brother (Canım Kardeşim) is a 1973 Turkish drama film directed by Ertem Eğilmez, written by Sadık Şendil and produced by Arzu Film. The story follows Murat and his close friend Halit, two young men living in poverty, who struggle to make the final days of Murat's terminally ill little brother Kahraman as happy as possible, doing everything in their power to buy the television the child dreams of.

The film stars Tarık Akan, Halit Akçatepe and Kahraman Kıral, supported by familiar Yeşilçam faces such as Adile Naşit, Kemal Sunal, Metin Akpınar and Sıtkı Akçatepe. Although it failed to achieve major box-office success upon its release, it has since come to be regarded as one of the masterpieces of Turkish cinema and is counted among the finest drama films ever made in the country.
