Aydoğan Temel — Biography
Aydoğan Temel was born in 1966 in Bandırma, a district of Balıkesir, and trained as a stage actor at Mimar Sinan University's State Conservatory Theatre Department before becoming one of Turkey's most recognizable dubbing voices. Active since 1983 across television series, feature films, animation, documentaries and commercials, he has voiced actors such as William H. Macy, John Malkovich, Gary Oldman and Kevin Spacey, typically bringing villainous or eccentric characters to life, and provided the Turkish voice of Seong Gi-hun in the South Korean series Squid Game.
For years he was known only as an anonymous narrator: he gave the Show TV magazine program Pazar Keyfi its distinctive off-screen voice before eventually stepping in front of the camera to host Uçankuş. His narration work on reality and cooking programs, most notably Zuhal Topal'la Yemekteyiz, made his identity a recurring subject of curiosity in the Turkish press for years. Temel argues that dubbing is less about matching a voice to a picture and more a form of "wording" a film, a view he credits to his mentor Kamran Usluer.
Alongside his voice work, Temel has also acted on screen: he wrote and starred in the 2011 film Komik Bir Aşk Hikayesi, appeared in the 2010 ATV series Yalancısın Sen, and made a guest appearance in the 2023 series Kuzgun: Dipsiz Karanlık.
