So Be It (Öyle Olsun) (translated)
Directed by Orhan Aksoy in 1976, Öyle Olsun ("So Be It") is an emotional Yeşilçam comedy. Pairing Tarık Akan with Müjde Ar, it sets a love story against the world of newspaper journalism, with a false report, a damages suit and marriage games as its raw material. The film runs about ninety minutes, made by Arzu Film and produced by Nahit Ataman.
Ferit (Tarık Akan), a journalist, starts a new series exposing the tricks of well-known companies. In his latest piece he writes that the oils made by businessman Hulusi Bey (Hulusi Kentmen) are not natural, and the series sharply raises the paper's circulation. That same night, at a disco, he sees Hulusi Bey's daughter Alev (Müjde Ar) with a married man and reports it, but this time he has got it wrong. Hulusi Bey files a damages suit that could bankrupt the paper. To win it, Ferit sets a trap for Alev, but things do not go as planned, and he falls in love with the woman he is trapping.
The cast also includes Ayşen Gruda (as Ayşe Huyugüzel), Şevket Altuğ (Şevki), Bilge Zobu (the newspaper owner), Aysel Gürel, İhsan Yüce and Cevdet Arıkan. Sadık Şendil, Suphi Tekniker and Orhan Aksoy wrote the script, and Hüseyin Özşahin was the director of photography.
