Movie · 2013 · 2 people

Bastards (French original Les Salauds, listed in Turkey as Pislikler) is a 2013 French-German co-produced thriller directed by Claire Denis. She wrote the script with Jean-Pol Fargeau. The film of about 100 minutes was screened in the Un Certain Regard section of the 66th Cannes Film Festival. Wild Bunch is attached to the production, and the dialogue is in French and English.

Marco Silvestri (Vincent Lindon), the captain of a supertanker, has to leave his crew and rush back to Paris. His sister Sandra needs help: her husband has killed himself, the family factory is about to go under, and their only daughter Justine (Lola Créton) has come undone. Sandra has picked out the culprit, the businessman Edouard Laporte (Michel Subor). Marco rents a flat in the building where Laporte has put his mistress and son, drawing close to the man's world. What he has not reckoned with is what his sister has kept from him. Chiara Mastroianni plays Raphaëlle; Grégoire Colin, Alex Descas and Florence Loiret Caille are also in the cast.
