The Rookie Witch (Acemi Cadı) (translated)

Acemi Cadı is a Turkish television series blending fantasy and comedy, produced by D Productions. It first premiered on Kanal D on 7 July 2006, and from its second season onward it continued on Star TV. The show is a Turkish adaptation of the American series Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, itself based on the Archie Comics character.

The story follows Ayşegül, a teenage girl who learns on her sixteenth birthday that she belongs to a family of witches. While outwardly carrying on as an ordinary student, she must master her newfound abilities with guidance from her aunts. Along the way she tries to juggle her school life, win the attention of Selim without losing him to her rival Tuğçe, and clean up the chaos caused by her still-clumsy spells.

The main roles were played by Merve Boluğur, Şenay Gürler, Nergis Kumbasar and Çağkan Çulha. Running for two seasons, the series ended in 2007 with its 58th episode.
