A.R.O.G

A.R.O.G (full title A.R.O.G: A Prehistoric Film) is a 2008 Turkish science-fiction comedy written by Cem Yılmaz and co-directed by Cem Yılmaz and Ali Taner Baltacı. Released nationwide in Turkey on December 5, 2008, it is regarded as a sequel to G.O.R.A. (2004)—its title being G.O.R.A. spelled backward—though Yılmaz described it as a standalone film. The series continued with Arif V 216 in 2018.

The story follows carpet salesman Arif who, after returning to Earth from his space adventures, falls into a trap set by his vengeful old enemy Commander Logar and is sent a million years back in time to the Stone Age. Stranded among cavemen, dinosaurs and prehistoric birds, Arif searches for a way home while trying to introduce the wonders of modern life to the prehistoric community. Packed with parodies of cult works such as Star Trek, Star Wars and The Flintstones, the film ranked among the most expensive Turkish productions of its era and became the highest-grossing Turkish film of 2008.
