The Life and Movies of Erşan Kuneri (Erşan Kuneri)

Erşan Kuneri is a Turkish comedy web series created, written and directed by Cem Yılmaz, who also stars in the title role. The series premiered on Netflix on May 13, 2022, and returned for a second season on October 10, 2024.

The story follows Erşan Kuneri, a producer and director of erotic films in the Turkish cinema industry of the late 1970s and 1980s. Determined to leave that genre behind, he sets out to shoot films in entirely different styles, from adventure and period pieces to horror and science fiction, together with his loyal crew. The chaotic productions, the colorful atmosphere of the era's film business and the eccentric people around him supply the show's comedy.

The character is already familiar to viewers from Cem Yılmaz's feature films G.O.R.A. and Arif V 216, where the same figure appeared. Filmed in 2021, the series also features Çağlar Çorumlu, Uraz Kaygılaroğlu and Merve Dizdar among its ensemble cast.
