Metin Keçeci — Biography

Metin Keçeci was born on December 31, 1975, in Hakkâri and became involved in theatre at the age of ten. In 1993-94 he founded a theatre troupe in his hometown under the İlim Sağlık Kültür Araştırma Vakfı and performed in several plays there. After relocating to Istanbul in 2002, he hosted his own show on a local channel for a while, then in 2004 appeared in TRT 1's series Fırtınalı Hayatlar and the TGRT television film Bodrum Hakimi. He joined the BKM Oyuncuları ensemble in 2005, taking small parts that year in the films Organize İşler and Hacivat Karagöz Neden Öldürüldü?.

Keçeci became best known for his work with the Çok Güzel Hareketler Bunlar troupe, during which period he also appeared in the film Hokkabaz and the series Bir Demet Tiyatro. He played the character Meto in the 2008 film A.R.O.G, then appeared in the 2012 series Düşman Kardeşler and the 2013 comedy Vay Başıma Gelenler, co-starring clarinetist Hüsnü Şenlendirici. He continued his film career with Ekşi Elmalar in 2016 and Parayı Bulduk in 2017, in which he played a film director.

In November 2025, footage showing him collecting cardboard from trash bins circulated widely, and reports followed claiming he was facing debt-enforcement proceedings and eviction from his home. Keçeci soon broke his silence to say the real situation differed from how it had been portrayed. After weeks of coverage about his hardship, he was photographed at a film premiere in January 2026.
