Reha Özcan — Biography

Ragıp Reha Özcan was born on 5 July 1965 in Bingöl, the youngest of five children in a family originally from Boyabat; because his father served as a non-commissioned officer, his childhood moved between provinces including Dikmen and Kars. After Kartal Anatolian High School, he graduated in 1987 from the theatre department of the State Conservatory at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. He is the brother of fellow actor Serhat Özcan.

He began his stage career that same year at the Trabzon State Theatre, moved to the İstanbul State Theatre for the 1990-91 season and then to the Antalya State Theatre, where he also directed for the Akdeniz University theatre club and the Metropolitan Municipality Theatre before returning to İstanbul for the 2010-11 season; he retired from the state theatres in October 2016.

Turning to television in the mid-2000s, he appeared in Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu, Suskunlar - among the first Turkish series whose format sold for a US remake, Karadayı and Muhteşem Yüzyıl, and earned several honors for his role in the film Bahtı Kara. His portrayal of Fikri Elibol in Bizim Hikaye reached a wide audience, and he went on to play Adil in Mucize Doktor, Sadık in Üç Kız Kardeş and Cevdet in Sahipsizler, joining the cast of Haysiyet in 2026. He married physician Yeşim Özcan in 1991.
