Road to the Moon (Aydede)

Aydede (internationally titled Road to the Moon) is a 2018 Turkish drama film written and directed by Abdurrahman Öner.

The story follows young Bekir, who lost his father early in life and lives with his mother Rabia and grandfather İlyas, the family running a small haberdashery shop in a provincial town. When the grandfather dies, Bekir is told, to soften the loss, that he has gone to live on the Moon as "Aydede" (the Turkish "man in the moon"). Inspired by a film he saw on television, the boy dreams of pedaling a bicycle all the way to the Moon to see him again. Meanwhile, his mother Rabia loses the family home and shop in an inheritance dispute with her sister, and a platonic romance further complicates her already difficult life.

The cast includes Ezgi Mola, Bilal Zeynel Çelik, Mehmet Özgür, Reha Özcan, Banu Fotocan, Ayşenil Şamlıoğlu as Dürdane, Nazan Kesal, Nalan Kuruçim, and Emirhan Ateş.
