Dark Cloud (Bahtı Kara)

Bahtı Kara is a 2009 Turkish drama film written and directed by Theron Patterson, released theatrically in Turkey in 2010.

The story centers on Adnan, a lifelong failure who lost his wife Gül years earlier and has never managed to hold down a job or set a good example for his son. His son Burak, a high school senior, seeks the family warmth his father cannot provide in the household of his uncle Can, aunt Deniz, and cousin Berk. Beset by a string of comic mishaps and misfortunes, Adnan watches helplessly as Burak drifts further away, sinking deeper under the weight of his failures and his longing for happier days gone by. What finally rescues him from despair is the hand his son extends to him at the last moment and the hope of a future together.

Reha Özcan stars as Adnan, alongside Yeşim Ceren Bozoğlu and Tolga Sarıtaş. The film stands out for its improvisational method, shot without a fixed script given to the actors. It won Best Film, Best Actor, and Best Screenplay at the 4th International Bursa Silk Road Film Festival and received nominations at the SİYAD Awards.
