Coluche — Biography
Michel Gérard Joseph Colucci, known by the stage name Coluche (28 October 1944 – 19 June 1986), was a French humorist, comedian and actor who also worked as a film director and screenwriter. Born in the 14th arrondissement of Paris to an Italian immigrant father, he adopted the pseudonym Coluche at the age of 26 at the start of his career.
He won the César Award for Best Actor for his dramatic role in Claude Berri's Tchao Pantin (1984). A hugely popular figure, he announced his candidacy for the 1981 presidential election before withdrawing, and in 1985 he founded the charity Les Restos du cœur. He died near Opio in a motorcycle accident.
