Les vécés étaient fermés de l'intérieur is a 1976 French crime comedy directed by Patrice Leconte, who co-wrote the screenplay with Gotlib. The film marked Leconte's feature-length directorial debut and adapts to the screen the characters Bougret and Charolles, created by Gotlib in his comic strip series Rubrique-à-brac.

Produced by Gaumont and running 74 minutes, the French-language film stars Coluche alongside Robert Dalban. As the director's first feature, it stands as an early example of the comic sensibility that would later define Leconte's career.
