Mercy Hill (Şefkat Tepe) (translated)

Şefkat Tepe is a Turkish television series blending action, military drama, and crime that premiered on Samanyolu TV on 27 November 2010. The story follows military teams fighting terrorist threats in Türkiye and across its borders, set in the period after 1997.

The leading roles were shared by Mert Kılıç, Aslıhan Güner, Ertuğrul Şakar, Dilara Büyükbayraktar, Mehmet Korhan Fırat, Merve Akaydın, and Bora Karakul. In episode 75 the character Leyla was killed off and Aslıhan Güner departed; in the third season a new unit called Sungurlar was formed, with Dilara Büyükbayraktar taking over the lead. After four seasons and 158 episodes, the production continued for two more seasons (39 episodes) under the name Sungurlar, ending in 2014. The series also drew criticism, including academic commentary, over its negative portrayal of Kurds in Turkey.
