Mert Kılıç — Biography
Mert Kılıç (born 24 April 1978 in Merzifon) is a Turkish actor, model and screenwriter. Born in the Merzifon district of Amasya Province and standing 1.91 m, he played professional football for Vanspor, Edirnespor and Tekirdağspor before turning to a career in front of the camera.
Chosen best model in a competition in 2002, he moved into modelling and later travelled to the United States to study acting at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. He made his screen debut in 2003 with a supporting part in Gurbet Kadını and went on to a series of recurring roles; his breakthrough came with a leading role in Şefkat Tepe. He played Captain Serdar Mert in the series Sungurlar, and in the 2022 film Komutan he both directed and took the lead as Major Tuna Kalkan.
Between 2001 and 2002 he was in a relationship with the Azerbaijani singer Aygün Kazımova. In June 2013 he married the actress Aslıhan Güner, his co-star on Şefkat Tepe; the couple marked their thirteenth wedding anniversary in 2026.
