Hababam Battalion (Hababam Taburu) (translated)

Hababam Taburu is a 1975 Turkish comedy shot under the Saner Film banner, with Hulki Saner serving as both director and producer; the story is based on a work by Rıfat Ilgaz. The plot follows the crew of a Turkish cargo ship sailing toward Libya to pick up goods, who secretly change course for Casablanca without telling their captain.

Unexpectedly, the vessel drifts into the waters of the fictional nation of Umumba on the very day a coup takes over its government, and the new rulers announce that any ship entering their borders will be seized, dragging the crew into forced military service and a wild adventure. Müjdat Gezen plays the character "Bitirim," while Celal Yonat appears as the General, alongside cast members such as Hulusi Kentmen, Figen Han, Altan Günbay, and Baykal Kent.

Aside from sharing part of its title, the film has no real connection to the unrelated Hababam Sınıfı series, which began filming that same year under a different studio.
