Playing House (Evcilik) (translated)

Evcilik (Playing House) is a 2024 Turkish film that pairs drama with thriller elements, directed by Ümit Ünal, who also wrote the screenplay. Produced by Sky Film Yapım, it runs about a hundred minutes and is also listed under the title The Playroom. Nejat İşler, Öykü Karayel, Fatih Artman and Deniz Işın share the leading roles, with Selen Uçer and Rüçhan Çalışkur also in the cast.

The story follows Fırat and Filiz, a couple worn down by the routine they are stuck in. They travel to a small, quiet hotel on the Aegean coast, named Evcilik like the film itself, and it is there that events begin to unfold.

The film was first shown on October 10, 2024, at the 61st Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, and opened in Turkish cinemas on December 27, 2024.
