The Voice (Ses)

The Voice (Turkish: Ses) is a 2010 Turkish horror-thriller film directed by Ümit Ünal from a screenplay by film critic and novelist Uygar Şirin. Produced by Bir Film and shot in Istanbul, it premiered in 77 Turkish cinemas in February 2010 and went into nationwide release on 5 March 2010.

The film follows Derya, a young woman working at a bank call center, who begins to hear a mysterious voice whispering to her. The voice gradually takes control of her life and turns it into a nightmare. The main cast includes Selma Ergeç, Mehmet Günsür, Serra Yılmaz and Selen Uçer. Ünal described Şirin's screenplay as the best he had ever read. The film received mixed critical notices and was nominated for eleven awards at Turkish film festivals, winning six of them.
