Nausea (Bulantı)

Nausea is a 2015 Turkish drama written, directed by and starring Zeki Demirkubuz. The director said he took the lead role himself because he could not find an actor willing to perform the film's explicit scenes, and he has described it as his most personal work, one carrying a piece of himself.

The story follows Ahmet, an intellectual who earns his living through mental work and holds himself in high regard. On a night he spends with his mistress, his wife and little daughter die in a traffic accident. A man who bows to no one, he goes on living seemingly untouched by the tragedy. Yet after a while, without any apparent cause, small misfortunes begin to pile up, his relationships with the women he loves deteriorate, and he starts displaying weaknesses no one would have expected of him.

The cast includes Şebnem Hassanisoughi, Öykü Karayel, Çağlar Çorumlu, Ercan Kesal and Kaan Turgut. The film met mostly negative reviews upon release.
