Timur Acar — Biography

Timur Acar was born on December 22, 1979, in Munich, Germany. He spent his childhood there before his family returned to Turkey after the 1999 İzmit earthquake and settled in the Karasu district of Sakarya. That same year he discovered theatre and trained in acting at the Theatre Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Dokuz Eylül University.

He made his film debut in 2005 with Organize İşler and his television debut in 2006 with Avrupa Yakası. He gained wide recognition for playing Necmi in the Çakallarla Dans film series, and drew attention in the 2014 series Kertenkele by portraying three different characters at once. He also appeared in Bebek İşi, Akasya Durağı, Barbaros Hayreddin: Sultanın Fermanı and Şahane Hayatım, and currently plays the twin brothers Yiğit and Yunus in the Fox TV series Nerdesin Birader.

In the autumn of 2025, Acar announced he had taken up olive farming alongside acting, harvesting his first crop on land he purchased in İznik.
