Hiyam Abbas — Biography

Born in 1960 in Nazareth to an Arab Muslim family and raised in the village of Deir Hanna, Hiam Abbass — sometimes credited as Hiyam Abbas — is a French-Palestinian film and stage actress. She built an international profile through roles in Lemon Tree, Free Zone, The Visitor, Paradise Now, Munich, The Syrian Bride, and Blade Runner 2049. She reached wider audiences playing Marcia Roy in the HBO series Succession, a role that earned her a Primetime Emmy nomination, and has since appeared in the Hulu series Ramy and The Old Man, the Channel 4 drama The Promise, and The Red Tent on Lifetime. Beyond acting, she has directed three short films and the feature Inheritance, and served as a dialect and acting coach on Steven Spielberg's Munich.
