Yussuf Abu Warda — Biography

Yussuf Abu-Warda, born on 19 August 1953 in the Galilee village of Jish, is an Arab-Israeli stage, film and television actor of Palestinian heritage whose family moved to Acre when he was five. He trained at the Beit Zvi theatre school, went on to head Al-Midan Theater in Haifa from 1999, and served as a member of the Israeli Council for Culture and Art. His film credits include Wedding in Galilee, Promised Land, Amreeka, and The Inheritance. The Union of Israeli Performing Artists honored him with a lifetime achievement prize in the autumn of 2018.
