Fikret Hakan — Biography
Fikret Hakan, born Gaffar Bumin Çıtanak (23 April 1934, Balıkesir – 11 July 2017, Istanbul), was one of the most recognizable leading men of Turkish cinema across a career of more than sixty years, working both as an actor and, at times, as a director. He began performing with the Ses Theatre in 1950, then moved to the big screen two years later with the film Köprüaltı Çocukları. Through the 1960s he was counted among Yeşilçam's foremost stars, headlining productions such as Yılanların Öcü.
In 1970 he took an international role as Colonel Ahmed Elçi alongside Tony Curtis and Charles Bronson in Peter Collinson's You Can't Win 'Em All. By the 1980s he was mostly cast in supporting parts, before returning to wide recognition in 1990 playing Muzaffer Bey in the TRT series Hanımın Çiftliği. He held the honorary title of State Artist and died in Istanbul at the age of 83.
