Demet Gül — Biography

Demet Gül is a German actress of Turkish descent, born in Stuttgart, Germany on April 19, 1982. She trained in performing arts at the Falckenberg Schule in Munich and has also worked as a screenwriter and producer; she adopted the stage surname Gül in place of her birth surname, Büyükkol.

She made her film debut in the 2011 movie Almanya: Welcome to Germany as the young Fatma, and first became known on Turkish television as Maşuka in the series Ulan İstanbul. Her breakthrough came with the role of Tuval in the Show TV series Aşk Laftan Anlamaz, which starred Hande Erçel and Burak Deniz.

In the years that followed she played Meryem in the series Arka Sokaklar, Sevda in Maide'nin Altın Günü and Türkan in Annenin Sırrıdır Çocuk, and appeared in numerous other productions, including the series Akrep and the films Küçük Esnaf and Dünya Hali.
