Birand Tunca — Biography

Birand Tunca (born 5 October 1990 in Istanbul) is a Turkish actor and model. He became interested in acting and modelling during his high school years and studied theatre at the Müjdat Gezen Sanat Center Conservatory. He made an early screen appearance in the 2008 series Kavak Yelleri, before his career proper began in 2014 with the historical drama Diriliş: Ertuğrul. He then appeared in Yunus Emre (2015-2016) and drew attention in Aşk Laftan Anlamaz (2016).

He played Emir in Kadın (2017), and his breakthrough came with the role of Emre Divit in Erkenci Kuş (2018), where he starred alongside Demet Özdemir and Can Yaman; the same year he also appeared in Mehmetçik Kûtü'l-Amâre. He went on to appear in Aşk Oluversin Gari (2021) and Biz Kimden Kaçıyorduk Anne? (2023), and in 2024 he took the role of Ayaz Ersoy in the series Ayazın Sonu Güneş. That same March, his mother, Yasemin Sözen, died after a battle with cancer. In 2026 he returned to screens as Kerem Aydan in the ATV series Aynı Yağmur Altında, and made entertainment headlines over a bet with his co-star Hülya Avşar.
