Berat Yenilmez — Biography
The Turkish stage and film actor Berat Yenilmez came into the world on 5 October 1970 in Adapazarı, Sakarya, in a family of teachers. He trained at the Müjdat Gezen Art Center and has built a long, prolific career spanning both theatre and television. On stage he has appeared in productions including Rosa Lüksemburg, Kuyruklu Yıldız Altında, Suç ve Ceza, Hasır Şapka and Hürrem Sultan.
His screen career began in the late 1990s with the series Ruhsar, followed by roles in Yabancı Damat (2006-2007), Kurtlar Vadisi Terör (2007) and Avrupa Yakası (2008). He is best known for playing Sami Adıgüzel, popularly nicknamed "Pastacı Sami," in the series Seksenler, broadcast from 2012 to 2017 and again from 2019 to 2022. Between 2018 and 2019 he played Nihat Aydın in Erkenci Kuş, and on film he portrayed Yaşar in Bana Masal Anlatma and a police chief in Kara Bela.
He continued his career with the series Senden Daha Güzel (2022) and Kendi Düşen Ağlamaz (2023), and also appeared on the competition show Sen Türkülerini Söyle in 2023. In 2021 he received wide press coverage for losing around 25 kilograms in a short period, drawing attention for his changed appearance.
